APD- Agency for Person with Disabilities

The Agency for Persons with Disabilities was founded specifically to serve the needs of Floridians with developmental disabilities. Together they work hand in hand with local communities and private providers to identify the needs of people with disabilities so that they can receive their required behavioral, residential, and therapeutic services.

Disability Rights Florida

Disability Rights Florida is a nonprofit organization whose driving mission is to protect the civil rights of people with disabilities in Florida. They dispense legal advocacy and rights protection for disabled people of all ages and seek to address civil rights violations, abuse, neglect, and discrimination in many areas including but not limited to – transportation, mental health support services, and employment

Hillsborough Recreation for Persons with Disabilities

A thorough list of the recreational and sports programs available for those with disabilities in Hillsborough County, including the special Olympics, adaptive sports, and even a disabled-friendly equestrian center.

Qlarant

Qlarant is a private nonprofit organization contracted by the State of Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) to provide quality assurance and improvements in healthcare within the State’s Developmental Disabilities Services system. Together they work with the APD in order to raise the quality of support and care for all Florida citizens with developmental disabilities.

The ARC of Florida

The Arc of Florida has a long-standing mission of working collaboratively with local, state, and national partners to improve the quality of life for those born with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Primarily, they advocate for individuals with IDD to be fully included and integrated into all aspects of community life in Florida through appropriate education, awareness, research, and family support.
